Fire TV Setup Guide: Installing a Player App Step by Step

What you need

• A Fire TV Stick or Fire TV connected to your TV and the internet.
• Your login details — our team sends them once your order is confirmed.
• About ten minutes.

Step 1: Install Downloader

From the Fire TV Home screen, search for Downloader and install it. Downloader is a small app that fetches files from a web address you type in.

Step 2: Allow Downloader to install apps

1. 1Step 1: Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options.
2. 2Step 2: Open Install Unknown Apps (on some models, Apps from Unknown Sources).
3. 3Step 3: Switch it on for Downloader only.

Can't see Developer Options?

On some Fire TV software versions it is hidden. Go to Settings → My Fire TV → About, highlight your device's name and press the select button on the remote seven times, and Developer Options will appear — as described in Amazon's Fire TV developer documentation (opens in a new tab).

Step 3: Install IPTV Smarters Pro

1. 1Step 1: Open Downloader and enter the address listed in our installation guide, then select Go.
2. 2Step 2: When the download finishes, choose Install.
3. 3Step 3: After it installs, you can delete the downloaded file to free up space.

Step 4: Sign in

1. 1Step 1: Open IPTV Smarters and choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
2. 2Step 2: Enter the server address, username and password exactly as we sent them — they are case-sensitive.
3. 3Step 3: Wait while the app loads the channel list and programme guide.

Step 5: Check that it works

Open a few channels from different categories, check the programme guide and try something on demand. If anything doesn't look right, see troubleshooting common streaming problems.

Keeping your Fire TV secure

• Only allow app installs for apps you trust, and only from sources you recognise.
• You can switch Install Unknown Apps off again once setup is finished.
• Keep your Fire TV software up to date.
